One of my favorite memories was singing Five Little Monkeys to my eldest right after we purchased our home. He was about six months old and I was already pregnant with baby number two. I was so pooped from morning sickness and unpacking and taking care of a six-month-old. I put him in his jumper and sat next to him and sang and he laughed and laughed. It was one of those moments where the rest of the world just melted away.
Now, fast forward two years… and my child likes the Youtube version of the song better! That’s not going to stop me from trying though! So, I created these cute puppets so hopefully he finds Mom’s singing to be a bit more entertaining.
The SVGs are made entirely by me and you are welcome to use them for commercial, education, and personal use. All I ask is that you share my link with others rather than trying to claim the images as your own.
These files are great because you can print them out and cut them by hand or upload them to your Cricut software and have your machine do it! I have left the file in layers so you could spend some time and make a fun layered paper project, or simply flatten it on Cricut Design Space and use the Print then Cut feature (that’s what I did!) If you need help flattening in Cricut Design Space click here.
I typically use cardstock when making these puppets. This time, I made a set with copy paper as well to compare. After laminating, there isn’t that big of a difference. I’m going to stick with cardstock just because it’s a little sturdier, (My kids are 2, 1, and 0.) but either will work.
Once your images are cut, laminate each piece. Then tape or glue a popsicle stick on the back and you are ready to go! Are you loving these puppets as much as I am? How are you using them? Let me know in the comments and tell me what other nursery rhyme/children characters you would like to see! Thanks for stopping by!
