Cowgirl Birthday Party

Yee Haw! Who’s ready for a cowgirl party? Or cowboy party if you prefer. Cowpeople? I don’t know. Let’s move on. My little girl turned two and we had a Western (there we go) themed party at our house! I love birthday parties and have done a whole bunch of different types in the past. What’s the first thing you need at a cowgirl party? Cowgirl hats! I did a lot of shopping around and these ones from Walmart seemed to be the best option if you want a true hat (not plastic) but you don’t want to break the bank buying them for each guest. My only complaint was that the ribbon curled on a few of the hats. I could have fixed it with my iron, but it wasn’t that important to me.

The hats were a pretty good size for my preschool kids (big, but doable) and even kind of fit my husband’s head which is huge. The only person it didn’t work for was the birthday girl, but that’s ok, because she got this bow I made using @fauxleatherforyou leather.

Next thing a cowgirl needs? A horse! I had made horses just like this back in my preschool teaching days. They’re pretty easy and straight forward. Everything you need can be purchased at Dollar Tree and then you can attach everything with hot glue, but just be careful. The Dollar Tree pool noodles melt really easily!

And pictures of my old horses, just for fun. This was when I was eighteen.

Next up, party decorations! I made this cute birthday banner. Don’t worry, I’ve got a free SVG for y’all.

This is the SVG. Right click to save. The whole image will show in Cricut Design Space.

After that, I made a balloon arch. Next time, I would make sure to get four colors. It was very hard to get an even looking mix with just three.

I forgot to get a good picture of the cupcakes but I did chocolate cakes with chocolate frosting, some green sprinkles for grass and then the little Dollar Tree toy horses on top.

They’re on the counter on the left. lol. Sorry I didn’t get a picture.

Originally, I was going to give my little girl a barnyard party. I switched to western, but I still had to make the piggy nose cups. They were just too cute to pass up.

Last, but not least, dress everyone up like cowboys and cowgirls! Button up shirts. Ribbons in hair, and of course, some blue jeans.

Happy Birthday silly girl!
