Back to School!

I’ve got some back to school crafts to share! This is my first year sending a kid off to school and it seems pretty surreal. How did this happen so fast?! But, we are getting very excited about his first day. Let me share some quick back to school projects you can throw together before they’re off!

First Day of School Sign

I’ve got a free SVG to share with you, but I couldn’t decide on just one, so here are three different styles! Feel free to use these files for personal or commercial use. All I ask is that you don’t sell or share the file, instead, send people to my page so they can grab it themselves!

All of the files are printer friendly, but here is one that won’t use all your ink! This is the SVG. Right click to save.

To make my sign, I took a piece of 12×12 cardboard. I got this one from a package of scrapbook paper. It was the backing to make sure the pages wouldn’t bend! I then added Cricut chalkboard vinyl. You could also use chalkboard paint or use a chalkboard from Dollar tree and size the image down. I added all of my text with white vinyl cut on my Cricut and then wrote the answers in chalk markers! Super simple and can be used again and again! Or, if you don’t have a Cricut (or time/desire) simple print out the sign and do it that way!

Helpful tip: When making your own chalkboard add a little bit of chalkboard vinyl/paint on the back so you have a place to test colors!

Preschool Shirt

I couldn’t send my preschooler off without a special shirt! This one isn’t too specific so it can be worn all year long!

Back to School Basics

I’ve also got some basic back to school images for you. These would be super cute for a scrapbook page or even a tiered tray! I used my pencil design to top my Dollar Tree DIY tiered tray.

And there you have it! Any words of advice for my first school send off? I’m 100% sure I’m more worried about him going to school than he is. Are you sending your little ones (or not so little ones) off to school in the upcoming weeks? Are you excited or sad? Let me know in the comments! Happy schoolin’ and craftin’!

And, if you’ve got a preschooler like me, make sure to check out my super cute nursery rhyme helps! I’ve also got file folder games for big and littles!
